Events in Blue Mountain you wont want to miss!

For many of our visitors, Blue Mountain is only a few hours drive away, so many weekend trips may ( and should ) be on the cards for you. Everybody knows, the area is a nature enthusiasts dream with all the cycle trails, outdoor activities and of course our glorious Blue Mountain! Along with the many a natural wonders to explore, the area also hosts events, activities and occasions you wont want to miss.

Here are a few weekends to mark off in your calendar, get the car packed and head on down. Saturday Night Fireworks

 

If you didn’t make it last weekend, lucky for you this event lasts for a whole two months. Every Saturday night in January and February the town of Blue Mountain gather together to host fireworks at the Mill Pond at 8pm. Not only is it a beautiful event to watch with the colors lighting up the pond and sky, but the evening brings everyone huddled together, for a spectacular Saturday evening.

Winter wonderland

The Blue Mountain Village is always a top spectacle this time of year. From their cobblestone walkways and unique shopping experiences, to the gorgeous array of illuminated nighttime lights, it’s always a perfect evening affair. Whether you and your party are up for a gourmet dinner , a horse carriage ride, or a simple stroll to admire the people and lights, it’s a great way to end your days here in Blue Mountain before an early retirement to a comfy bed.

MLK SKI Weekend

Here is one to mark off your calendars, and make sure to book your accommodation in advance.   The MLK ski weekend brings even more life and vibe to this little town. This year Blue Mountain will host the 23rd event of its kind, where skiers and non-skiers come together to enjoy on and off-hill celebrations, themed activities, comedy shows and après ski parties. Audi FIS Ski Cross World Cup

( 24th January – 27th January )

Blue Mountain is honored to host this spectacular event. Olympic international skiers take on our mountain in attempt to become the reigning champ. The course is made up of ‘technically-challenging terrain’ making it an interesting and unpredictable event. This year is sure to be one not to miss.

(Saturday, 3rd February)

A day for the ladies! On the 2nd of February woman skiers and snowboarders are invited for a female only day on the slopes. The day is in honor of Sarah Burke, with an aim to introduce more female riders to the wonderful sport of skiing and snowboarding. Whether you are a pro rider, or have never set foot on a slope, this is an amazing opportunity for a girls only weekend trip for some fun, action and a great cause.

Rail Jam

(15th February)

15th February is an event people look forward to all year long, the annual Rail Jam, a grassroots terrain park event for skiers and snowboarders. There is always great festivity and support around the event, and even if you are not a skier, the tricks and expertise of the competitors are definitely something to experience.

Family Weekend

It’s a special weekend for Ontario families, and we love being able to celebrate it. The weekend hosts many events and activities for all ages, and family groups. 24 Hours of Blue Mountain

(23rd February)

Relay teams are set and ready to go. This event is in support of Collingwood General & Marine Hospital and Special Olympics, where teams of up to 10 skiers commit to a full 24 hours of relay skiing. Register your team for some fun, games and good causes.
