“We stayed here at Mountain Springs Resort Chalet #9709 for an impromptu weekend getaway this past weekend. We are so glad we did. The office staff were fabulously accommodating of our last minute plans. We were late arriving Friday night, the receptionist went above and beyond by staying there after hours for us to arrive, on top of that they escorted us right to our chalet and made sure everything was to our liking. Trust me when I say this resort did not disappoint! The chalet was stocked with all the amenities you could ever need right from kitchen appliances and dishes to the toiletries which were top notch quality. Nothing was overlooked. The atmosphere was warm, inviting and relaxing, complete with a fire place. This will definitely be our go-to place for sure. We will be returning for more than just 2 days, we will be bringing our kids with us next time. Shout out to all the staff for making our weekend getaway a fabulous one!“

1. Book Your Accommodations for a Week or a Month Instead of Nightly to Enjoy the Best Rates
A great tip for getting better hotel rates comes from ThriftyNomads. They suggest booking longer stays instead paying night by night. Weekly and monthly rates often work out significantly cheaper than nightly rates. This is because an extended stay is better for owners as changing rooms each day is much costlier than having the same occupants for several nights. Owners will usually pass on these savings to you. When booking an accommodation, check the difference between their nightly rate and weekly or monthly ones. For example, the picture below shows how renting the displayed one bedroom condo from Blue Mountain Lodges will cost $390 for one night whereas the weekly rate for this same condo is an incredibly low $810. That works out to only $116 per night. That’s a huge saving!
2. Book During the Offseason for the Best Prices
The best time of year to book for pricing in the Blue Mountains are the off-seasons of spring and fall. But this doesn’t mean that they’re not great times to visit. There are so many great events happening in the Blue Mountains all year round and the fall is especially spectacular with the brilliant colours of the trees. Websites such as Hotwire and Priceline can help you search many different accommodation options to find the best prices available during the off-season or any time of year. Online bidding for the best hotel deals has become quite popular. Tools such as BetterBidding and BiddingTraveler can help you know what to bid in order to give you a better chance at winning an amazing deal.
3. Book with Places that Offer Discounts to Repeat Customers
Some resorts in the Blue Mountains will offer a discount for customers who come back again. This is to encourage repeat business. If you had a great experience the first time around, why not go back rather than risk having a bad experience at a place that you are not familiar with. For example, if you have stayed with Blue Mountain Lodges in the past, book again and they will give you an additional 10% off their already low prices. They even suggest calling their front desk to book your stay to receive the best deal possible. If you want to try a different type or size of accommodation this time around, they have over 150 different lodging options to choose from.
4. Book Your Accommodations During the Week Instead of a Weekend to Get the Best Prices
Many accommodations are much cheaper on a weekday rather than the weekend because they aren’t as busy during the week. If you have flexibility in your schedule, it will pay to plan your next getaway during the week. If you want to include some of the weekend, Sunday nights are usually cheaper than Friday and Saturday nights.
5. Book Accommodations that Offer Food Coupons, Food Discounts, or a Complimentary Breakfast to Save Even More
Many hotels and resorts will offer food coupons, food discounts or a complimentary breakfast along with your booking. This could help you save even more. However, it’s a good idea to figure out exactly what they are offering and does it really make a difference to the overall price. For example, if a continental breakfast is offered, one that includes beverages, muffins, cereal and fruit, but the price of the hotel is $50 more than one that doesn’t offer breakfast, it’s probably not worth it. However, if they are offering a full, hot breakfast including bacon and eggs, etc., and their price is comparable to another hotel that doesn’t offer breakfast, then it is definitely worth booking there. Or if the resort is offering lunch or dinner coupons and they already have one of the best prices for their rooms, then that definitely is the accommodations to choose.
6. Check Out Groupon for Amazing Deals on Things to Do While You Are in the Blue Mountains.
Groupon is a great site for finding deals on anything from accommodations to dining to entertainment. Simply go to Groupon.com, enter Collingwood, ON to find all of the best deals in that area. For example, right now the Collingwood Brewery is offering 47% off their gift bundle for two that includes:

- 2 sample flights (each flight has four 5 ounce glasses)
- If you go on a weekday, you will also get a “sneak peek” tour of the brewery in action.
