We’ve all heard stories of folks showing up at a hotel and finding out their all-inclusive vacation doesn’t “include” what they’ve been promised… or worse, tales of travellers arriving at an exotic destination only to discover that due to their agent’s bankruptcy, they have to dig into their wallets again just to get back home. Not exactly a great way to relax! (more…)

Layer, layer, layer – Layering allows you to adjust to the change of weather and activity level. We all know that winter temperatures can be unpredictable. The three layers should consist of wicking away, insulation and protection.
Wick away-The first layer, closest too the skin, should be long pants and top … made of synthetic material that pulls (wicks) the perspiration away from your skin. This is one time when cotton isn’t good, because cotton tends to keep the dampness from perspiration, which will cause you to feel chilly.
Insulate to keep warm – You can wear specially made clothing or turtleneck, sweatshirt, vest and or fleece.
Protection – Ski jacket and pants offer protection from the wind and the snow. There are two kinds of protective shells…insulated for added warmth or non-insulated that only offers a buffer from the wind and snow.
Extremities – Keep your head (most of your heat escapes from this part of your body), feet and hands covered.
